Ardbeg distillery, situated on the south coast of Islay is one of nine working distilleries on the island, with another two planned to open in the coming years. Notes of oak chips, banana loaf and bacon lardons lay out what is to come from this 29 year old dram. The palate boasts hints of damp campfire smoke, accompanied by sweet toasted marshmallows and a subtle hint of salty pancetta. The finish is sweet, with notes of fruit syrup and s’mores.
